Healthwise and Silverlink Partner to Extend the Reach of Evidence-Based Consumer Health Information

Leading providers of consumer health content and automated healthcare communications partner to offer a new way to help consumers play an active role in managing their health

Boise, Idaho and Burlington, Massachusetts - Healthwise, the nonprofit provider of consumer health information, and Silverlink, healthcare’s leading provider of automated phone calls, today announced a partnership that will enable healthcare organizations to send patients and members personalized interactive phone calls containing evidence-based information certified by Healthwise.

Under the terms of the agreement, Silverlink will use the Healthwise® Knowledgebase to develop automated inbound and outbound telephone call scripts featuring Healthwise Certified Content. Each call script will contain uniquely decision-focused and action-oriented health content and will be customized for the healthcare organizations deploying the calls.  Recipients interact with Silverlink's automated calls by voice and often have the ability to request more information during the call or to request a transfer to a live health coach.  Each call containing Healthwise Certified Content is designed to help members stay healthy, recover from illness or injury, or play an active role in managing their chronic disease conditions. Examples of Silverlink calls that will be available with Healthwise Certified Content include:

  • Health screening reminders and education programs: Call programs include breast cancer screening reminders, colon cancer screening reminders, and flu shot / pneumonia vaccines reminders.
  • Condition-specific disease management programs: Call programs include distributing self-care advice and adherence programs for diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol, and asthma.
