As CEO and co-founder of Silverlink, Stan’s vision is to improve health outcomes, reduce costs and build loyalty and trust with healthcare consumers through effective communications. Under Stan’s leadership, Silverlink has developed flexible communications technology and proprietary analytics capabilities to deliver highly personalized and interactive communications – all with a single focus – to better understand and drive healthcare consumer behaviors. Stan’s background includes over 20 years of general and executive management in technology services and he has held previous executive roles with StorageNetworks, GTE and InterGen (Bechtel). He is frequently quoted within both the healthcare industry and business press on topics such as health and wellness programs, consumerism in healthcare and the strategic use of communications in healthcare. He additionally serves on the editorial advisory board for Disease Management Advisor.
Stan holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Harvard College.
As COO, Paulo has overall responsibility for corporate and field operations. He drives the service delivery model for the company and is primarily focused on ensuring customer success using Silverlink software and services.
Paulo is a company founder with a strong background in building mission-critical IT infrastructures, product development, workflow design and program management. He has delivered technology services for and on behalf of companies including StorageNetworks, Lycos, and Houghton Mifflin. He has an MBA from Babson College and an MA from MIT.
With 16 years of prior experience in software and high technology. Before Sigma, Richard co-founded Phase Forward Incorporated, a provider of service and software infrastructure for managing pharmaceutical clinical trials over the Internet, where he was Vice President of Services and then Vice President of Strategic Development. Previously, he was Vice President of Operations for Vermeer Technologies, creators of FrontPage and acquired by Microsoft in 1996. Richard also held professional service, senior product management and IS management roles at Sybase, Epoch Systems (a subsidiary of EMC) and MicroTouch Systems.
Richard received a B.A. in mathematics from the University of Durham in England. He shares responsibility for Sigma's investment in ExaGrid, Instill, Reflectent, Savantis, Silverlink and Visual Mining. He has also been an advisor to many startup companies, including Vignette, OnDisplay, FirstSense, OnExchange and QXL.com.

Peter is a Managing Partner of HLM Venture Partners. His venture investment activity has been focused on health services, medical technologies and health care information technologies. Prior to joining HLM in 1992, Peter was a Managing Director at Alex. Brown & Sons, where he directed research in health care services and managed care. Previously, he was a research analyst at William Blair Company and a strategy consultant at Booz, Allen & Hamilton. Peter received an AB degree from Bowdoin College and an MBA from Columbia University.
John has 20 years of experience in the high technology industry. Most recently he was the President & CEO of Vermeer Technologies, Inc., the developers of FrontPage, the leading Web authoring tool. Vermeer was acquired by Microsoft, providing Sigma and the other venture investors a very successful return. Previously, he was an early principal at SQL Solutions, where he created and led an engineering organization chartered to build heterogeneous database tools. Following an acquisition of SQL Solutions by Sybase, he took responsibility for the new Systems Management Product unit, which he grew to $55 million in sales in 30 months. Prior to SQL Solutions he was a member of the Advanced Engineering program at Honeywell where he worked in communications, operating systems and co-processor design.
He is a graduate of Tufts (BSE in Engineering Science) and Worcester Polytechnic State University (MS in Computer Science). He has been responsible for Sigma's investments in Blue Agave Software, Datasage, Digital Music Network, EasyAsk, Novera Software, Oberon Software, Onexchange, OpenPages, Reflectent Software, and Silverlink.

An entrepreneur with over 35 years of experience in healthcare, Mr. Spiegel was named ‘One of the Most Influential Individuals in Health Care IT’ by Advance for Health Information Executives in 1999.
Spiegel founded APM Management Consultants and over two decades as its CEO grew the company into the nation’s largest stand-alone consulting firm dedicated to healthcare. He sold APM to Computer Sciences Corporation’s (CSC), where as President he established and built the CSC Healthcare Group into one of the top four technology service companies in the industry - according to Healthcare Informatics – before retiring from CSC in 2002.
Mr. Spiegel participated in the founding of and is current Co-Chairman of Accretive Health Inc. and he also currently sits on the Boards of EyeTel Imaging Inc., Broadlane Inc., Inc., Lynx Medical Systems and is Executive Chairman of MDEverywhere.
